IT’S OKAY NOT TO BE OKAY AT TIMES!🥀

Society: Hey, you look sad. Is everything okay?

Me: Yeah! Absolutely.

This is the most predictable lie people chooses to hide their sentiments. Isn’t it?

IS IT REALLY NORMAL TO BE SAD?

We are social beings with multiple emotions. It is in our basic nature to react differently in different situations. Someday we are happy even in little things and the other day we are with full of complaints about how life treats us. Joy, fear, anger, excitement, frustration goes hand in hand in our usual routine. But you know what the sad part is? Happiness and Smiles are always discussed publicly with so much pride. On the other hand, grief and tears are kept deep inside our hearts or locked up in an isolated room. It’s fine not to be okay at times. Still, why does it seem people are ashamed to cry? Why do we have to pretend normal the entire day and wait for the night to weep? May be, it’s been drummed into us that crying is a sign of weakness or even as unprofessional.

I’m not denying with the fact that one should save his tears for worthy people and do not let them waste on some useless random situations. But I also feel that a person should never hide his emotions beyond a certain limit, because they help him to adapt, accept, focus, preserve and grow.

STOP RELYING ON TEMPORARY SOLUTIONS

Highs and lows are the parts of life. It’s completely normal to feel down sometimes. You cannot always live with a bright smile on your face. Shed your tears, show your dark side too, to some extent. But do not over think about any situation. Otherwise this sadness wouldn’t take time to turn out into depression. Sleeping pills, anti depressants, avoiding people is not the solution of every problem. These are just temporary methods to get rely on. Eating healthy, taking care of your body, mind and soul, accepting failures with positivity are the ways to come out from difficult times. And such things are possible only when you stop being too harsh on yourself and start letting your emotions out.

There’s a saying that “we become stronger when we break”. It’s like we put our broken parts together and become a whole new person. You can always find something beautiful in broken things.

It’s not necessary to share your problem only when you are dealing with something major. Any negative emotion is itself a big thing to talk about. You may feel unhappy for various reasons. From personal matter to trouble at work, from being physically sick to experiencing changes in your thoughts. These points might look very basic and insignificant but they can slow you down and make you really think about your life, your feelings and the people around you..

I agree it is easier said than done because the one who is writing this blog feels herself uneasy too in expressing her sentiments when she undergoes with her own mental pain. And sometimes I also want to explain things but choose to remain silent. Well, this solution never helped me to overcome with my agony. If you were to hold in all your sadness and anger, you would explode someday. And that explosion would probably be more harmful than the pre consequences. At the same time, people should also understand how stressful it is to explain what’s going on in your head when you don’t even understand it yourself.

So take your time..discuss about your issues with someone who can listen you with patience, give you a suitable advice and make you calm. Trust me, it is a sign of stable sense of well being! And do remember one thing:

I’TS OKAY NOT TO BE OKAY AT TIMES BUT IT’S NOT FINE TO RUIN YOUR INNER PEACE FOR ANYTHING IN LIFE! 🙂
