JOINT FAMILY- Happy with Harmony !

Indian culture is full of values, ideologies and customs. Our culture believes in “परिवारो मम जीवनं ईशो मे परिच्छेदकः which means ‘Family is my life and God is my Judge’.  Having a family is the greatest blessing of God. There was a time when a term called “nuclear family” doesn’t used to exist. Despite of financial crisis or lack of any other resources, People were happy living together with their cousins and elders. But unfortunately, with the passage of time, Joint family system is gradually fading away. Living in a chaos, yet finding peace and happiness by having a sense of togetherness is basically what joint family is.

Being myself a family member of twenty most unusual but hilarious people, I feel that living together is more beneficial than having your own separate world. There’s no doubt that nuclear family has its own pros in today’s world of modernization but you can also not deny in the saying, Ek saath rehne ka mazaa he kuch or hai!”

Let’s discuss the perks of having a jolly joint family:

Grandparents’ moral advice and blessings:

You’re the luckiest if you have the most experienced people i.e. grandparents in the house. Because the kind of love and blessings they shower upon us is the purest form of any emotion.

So always listen to what they suggest because they always think of your betterment and will never give you any wrong advice. Moreover you will always be free from your parents’ never ending scolding 😀

Team work:

When you’re growing up in a big family, one of the most important lessons which you learn is how to work in a group. Be it a planning of any celebration or just a routine task, working together will always be the preference of all the members. So that, more innovative ideas could be add on in less time.

Multi-Dimensional Growth:

Different people in the family possess different art, values and traits. They also differ in opinions and perceptions about a specific thing. In their company, children also get benefited by their knowledge. So they can have a multi-dimensional growth.

Unconditional Love:

Imagine how special you can feel when you get extra dose of unconditional love from your elders and siblings! Well that’s the beauty of a big fat family. All the pampering, love, care and concern for you just get doubled.

Family vacations and endless parties:

One of the best things of being a member of joint family is the happening family vacations. Travelling with your family in a mini-bus, having the best “antakshari” sessions is unparalleled to any other experience. You get to travel more and travel bigger.

Moreover, there is no stop to the amazing parties. Birthdays, festivals, marriages, anniversaries, achievements, celebrations goes on and on. And you also get multiple selfies+videos for your Instagram stories 😉

We may not have it all together But together, we have it all..!

Pillars of support and various sharing partners:

Nuclear family system does not give you too many options when it comes to sharing your secrets with anyone. And there are certain things which you might not feel comfortable sharing with your parents.

But a joint family person will never complaint about this issue because he/she has got the panel of members with whom one can easily have conversation on any topic. Uncle, aunt, sister/brother-in-law or cousins- you just have to pick your favorite one to burst out anything you have in your mind.

Tom and Jerry equation with your siblings:

Oh God! I have no words to describe the everyday fights with all my idiotic creatures. Our mum calls us “junglis” because we really act like one at times 😀 Fighting for remote, getting irritated by each other’s nuisance, our melodrama doesn’t get stop. But despite of all the arguments, anger and annoyance, we cannot think of living apart from each other. So this is why, we are current versions of Tom and Jerry.

Weirdos since birth!🐒

Understanding of every emotion:

When you are growing up with number of people, you got to understand their change in behavior or mood swings as well. You do not have to think for a longer time about what they want to say or express because you have know them for years. Their happiness, sadness, excitement, dull look generally becomes so predictable.

These are very basic and common points which everyone is aware of but the sad part is they do ignore it most of the times. So here’s a small reminder for my readers: Never hold grudges towards any of your family member. Because these people were your past, they are your present, and they will always be there standing by your side in your future too!

You might have misunderstandings and lack of privacy, You might feel insecure from one another or hurt each others’ feelings. But such issues are short lived because everyone knows the importance of family. And one or the other day, you will also realize that Life can be pleasant without the Internet as you have the biggest source of Entertainment at your own home..!!

May be Blurry Picture but definitely not a Blurry Life!🌸

Hostel life : An Experience to be Remembered for Lifetime

Have you ever thought to escape from the madness of your home and come into a completely different place so that you can live as per your own way? Well I was never one of those, but living in the hostel has taught me more than the classroom learning because there are many lessons in life that books can’t teach you.  People have different perceptions about hostel life. Some find it too exciting while the other one is filled with mixed emotions as he is about to come at a strange place far away from his home. So basically, hostel is a new world to live in which makes you smart, active, independent and learner and everyone must experience this life

Source: catchupdates.com

Here are some of the basic reasons why this is an experience to be remembered for lifetime:

Learn to be independent

From the childhood, you have been pampered by your parents and they have done every possible thing to make you happy. But once you come to a new place, you realize that you cannot rely on your parents for every small thing. At so many stages, you take such decisions where there are no backups available. So hostel life teaches you to work on your own as it is really important to be independent in today’s world and it is a biggest lesson one learns while staying at a hostel. This may appear a bit troublesome in the beginning, but you get used to it after sometime and also turn into a confident person.

Home away from home

Isn’t it strange, how a person leaves his own place to reside in a new environment with strangers who gradually becomes his own family members? Though in initial days, people feel homesick. But once days keep going on, they start enjoying this life. You fight like an animal and cry like an idiot with your mates but those people are also the reason behind your smile. At the time of any problem, you know that you aren’t alone as they are standing by you not matter what.

Warden’s strict rules and punishments becomes the part of your daily routine. But when it comes to protection and concern, there’s no one better than him/her. From crying on the first day due to the feeling of strangeness to crying on the last day to leave those strangers, hostel becomes your home away from home.

Time and money management

Whether you excel at any other thing or not, managing time and money are the sure shots during this lodging. Being at home, we tend to happily spend the money wherever we wished to. But once you come out of your comfort place, you have monthly expenses that you need to spend sensibly. When you are given a particular amount of money, you definitely learn its value. Also, you learn the importance of time. Despite of all the regular fun and gossips in a hostel, you know how to take out time for your studies and assignments as these are the significant reasons behind your stay miles away from your family. This is how, hostel life teaches you to manage time and money in an accurate manner.

Fun, joy and Celebrations

Hostelers do not need a specific reason to celebrate. No matter if it is someone’s birthday or the other one’s bad day due to getting low marks in a test, you would find every kind of celebration in a hostel. Deciding what to do a night before, contributing money, dividing work among students and putting their best in every party, this is what hostlers do to make an event a memorable one. But these little gatherings lighten up everyone’s mood and fill the students with new zeal and enthusiasm.

Every small occasion and festival is celebrated with utmost pleasure and joy. And the sole purpose behind such events is to bring a sense of togetherness. (Well, I have no idea how much I’m going to miss these celebrations after my hostel life gets over)

The more you share, the more you care

We have always been taught that sharing is caring. But I understood the real meaning of this phrase after getting entered in my hostel life.

From sharing bed to wearing clothes & footwear of each others to eagerly waiting for your friend who is returning from home along with his\her “Ghar ka Khana”, hostel mates know how to share their stuffs with one another. Not only food and accessories, your random problems, serious issues, deep secrets are also being shared to feel lighter and get a sensible advice which rarely comes out from your idiotic creatures. So hostel life never fails to teach you the actual meaning of sharing.

Lifelong connections and memories

One of the most interesting reasons to experience such temporary accommodations is you come across with people from various cultures and backgrounds. You get to know about their lifestyles, opinions on different things. Generally friends gained at hostel are the ones that remain for our lifetime. They know about our crazy habits, silly tantrums but still choose to be with us. Time spent with them is indeed worth to remember. And such bonds results into a lifetime connections with whom you’ve cherished every little memory.

This life brings out the real you and extremely valuable memories for life. Some of them are unquestionably terrible; however most of them are immense and priceless. No matter how long a pile of clothes waiting to be washed or how pathetic the mess food is, hostlers knows how to manage things in their own way.

Enjoy every little moment of your hostel life because such madness won’t ever come back! 🙂

Know How to Dance for Happiness

There’s always that one special quality or talent in everyone, which gives them utmost pleasure and joy and they always want to perform it by their whole heart. Everyone have different mindsets about the term Dance. Some feel like it is just moving rhythmically to music or typically following a set sequence of steps while other see it as a mode of earning money. But Dance can also be a reason for happiness in someone’s life. So this article will help you in finding out about how to dance for happiness

Say cheers to dance..!

Just dance and live the moment

It is said that “focus on the simple things that brings you joy”. Dancing can make you feel good because it will make you feel so alive even within a couple of minutes or hours. You will realize that it is one of the simplest way to lift your spirit. And the best part is you’re living and enjoying every moment of it, without thinking of anything else.

If you want to dance for happiness, always keep the most common but important phrase “Dance like no one’s watching” and you will feel like a carefree bird.

One of the most beautiful things about dancing is that it connects us to metaphor without having to think about the meanings and connections-we can just experience them. so just dance and enjoy the moment.

Her smile says it all 🙂

Benefits of dance

One can also get various benefits just by listening to the tune of music and performing on it even if you dance for happiness.

  • Brings positivity: We experience loads of negative vibe around us which is really frustrating off at times. We always find one or the other way to escape from that negativity. And when there’s dance, there’s always a way. No matter whether you’re a professional dancer or just a beginner, the moment you start stepping your feet and moving your hands, you will start feeling afresh. Correct me if I’m wrong but it’s the most chilled out way to brings positivity in one’s life. Isn’t it?
  • Pure emotion: Expressing without Explaining verbally or in written, I don’t think anything else could be such easier form of depicting your emotions with full of grace and purity. Well, that’s the beauty of dance where one does not have to pretend or be fake in any sense.
  • Improves Fitness and flexibility: Obesity and laziness is a serious issue in 21st But dance helps you to get rid of this problem. It brings your energy level higher and makes you more active. Here’s just a small reminder ‘ Be fit, Be flexible just by moving your body according to the beats of music’
  • Takes away your stress: In this world full of worries and tensions, one always need that one thing which makes him/her feel refreshed and lighten. Dance can help you to boost up your mood and can let you forget about all the worries.silhouette of person jumping during dawn
  • Makes you more social and trendy: It is almost impossible to stay away from one or the other media platform, especially for young generation like us as going with a “trend” is all that we want. You always post video on social websites whenever you learn or see something new in terms of dance. What a cool way to be a good source of entertainer among your friends and family. Isn’t it?
  • Good career opportunity: It can be tough at times when your passion doesn’t pay all your bills. Many dancers find themselves irritated and working odd jobs just to make ends meet. But there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. There are number of ways you can use your craft to generate some extra income. Like, teach private lessons or classes, choreograph for special events, write articles on dance, monetize your social account, post your dance tutorials on YouTube etc.

Not every hobby has to become hustle

If you cook well and have adequate knowledge of different types of dishes, someone will eventually suggest you to do it for money. If you write anything convincing or affecting, you’ll be asked to write a book or an article. This might look interesting and exciting to you at initial stage but slowly you will have to keep a track of everything because now your hobby has turned out to your profession. There are bigger consequences to your commitments, customers to satisfy, rules to follow and so on. Now, no matter how great you’re, if you end up losing money, you’ve failed. And the harder you hustle, the more prominent your failure will be.

Similarly there are number of people who have keen interest in dancing but not everyone thinks of making it their own profession. This is  because they want to enjoy their special talent without taking it as a burden or responsibility. And it is completely fine as everyone’s version of happiness is something different. If there are certain things which gives you the utmost satisfaction, even though you’re not getting anything in return as of now, do more of that. I believe that to be happy means to get to know yourself and your purpose better.

Being happy is all you need.

So for all the dancers or my lovely audience who are reading this blog, here is a small advice for you all that there’s no such necessity to always convert your talent into professional work. If you are very sure about it and you haven’t thought of any other alternative for your career then only go for it otherwise it’s better to keep your hobby aside from your work. It would be great if your dancing skills can help you in earning but only if you’re happy from inside and out, otherwise there’s no worth of it. Because at the end of the day, all that you want is to stay happy.
