MIRROR MIRROR ON THE WALL, LET THEM SHOW WHO ARE THEY ALL!

The title of this write up must be giving you some Disney feels.“Snow white and the seven dwarfs”. Well let me clear it in the beginning only. “Mirror Mirror on the wall, let them show you who are they all” is my own edition. Here, we are not going to talk about bitter truth or anything which will make you feel disheartened. Because a mirror does not always show you the harsh reality. It also boost up your morale when you feel dejected.

Remember how we used to stand in front of the mirror and practice for our debate competitions or any other curricular activities? I’m sure most of us still do it. This technique helps you to accept who you are, how you look and where do you stand in life. It also perceives that you should only compete with one person: yourself. That’s the person you have to beat every single day and when you do, you need to get better and beat him again. Trust me, nothing could be more honest than your own replica.

When you walk into a professional place, you’re likely to see mirrors on one or more walls. Be it a gym, dance, martial arts or any other physical performance activity. Because it’s helpful for participants to see themselves perform. Mirror is also a psychological aid; reinforcing a performance-driven self-image. We experience ourselves as we see ourselves.

Here are some points which proves how mirror can be advantageous to your self esteem:

Reflections make us realize our self-worth:

The mirror can be used to critique ourselves. But it also offers perspective on just how unlikely we our treating ourselves. There comes a time when you’re in the midst of what to do in life and what not to. This is when you have to look at your reflection and say positive, successful, motivational statements about yourself as a person and your life in general. “Everything is going to be fine. I can do this. I got this. No one can stop me in achieving my goals. Just a matter of hard work and I’m right there.” This is the best technique to realize your own worth.

Reflections make us less socially awkward:

Socializing has become a crucial part of everyone’s life in today’s era. Even after growing up with utmost sensibility and maturity, many people don’t know how to keep their opinions in front of known audience. The reason is lack of confidence. Imagine, when we find difficulty in sharing our thoughts among our own mates then how are we going to interact in front of 100 strangers or even more? An optimistic look in mirror reaffirms our sense of self. It stimulates face to face contact with others and eventually makes us less socially awkward.

Mirror says “You’re beautiful in your own way”:

Not only in professional life, seeing your reflection is also important in your daily routine. Now a days people are extremely worried about physical appearances. And most of them feel ashamed just by comparing their body or looks with others. Forget about adults, the insecurities related to body image and looks among young generation is increasing on an another level. Comparison is the main problem behind such issues. They see an attractive feature that someone has and immediately want it while disregarding the beautiful features they already have. But when you look yourself in mirror, think positive, accept the way you are and keep aside all your insecurities. This object will always make you feel beautiful and you will end up embracing yourself in the best possible manner.

This object never fails to make me happy from inside :)

A quick glance in the mirror may do more for you that you realize. So my dear ones if you’re not feeling quite yourself, consider taking the time for a thoughtful look in the mirror 🙂
